Using Glow Learn to Support Phonics in Infants
Overview
Fiona Meney is a Principal Teacher at Forehill Primary School, South Ayrshire. She has recently started to look at ways that Glow can be used to support teaching and learning in the classroom.
In this cookbook we will look at how Fiona has used Glow Learn to support teaching and learning in Phonics in the Infant Stages. This cookbook will exemplify this good practice and show how to re-create it.
Context
Fiona recently attended Glow Learn training and realised the potential of this product to support teachers and learners. As a Principal teacher she recognised that Glow learn could be used as a means of storing resources for the phonic scheme which had been created within the school.

Impact
There have been a number of impacts from this project. The Fiona is now much more familiar with the components of Glow Learn and now hopes to develop her use of its functionality to support teaching and learning. She also feels that the teachers have now had a good opportunity to experience Glow Learn and develop their skills in this area and are capable of navigating their way through the components confidently.
Fiona feels that the use of Glow Learn to organise the school’s resources for phonics has meant that they are more accessible for teachers, particularly new/support staff and that the resource becomes much more sustainable as the masters are being stored in one central storage point.
