Glow supporting animation, transition and enterprise
Overview
Alan Thomson is an ICT Development Officer working in Midlothian’s ICT Development Team. In this cookbook Alan describes how he set up a Glow Group at local authority level to facilitate collaborative projects across Midlothian and takes us on a tour through one of the successes to date.
Context
In response to requests from staff across Midlothian, Alan set up a Glow Group at local authority level aimed at enabling collaborative working, showcasing the work being done and sharing resources and expertise.
One such collaborative project showcased in the local authority group is an Animation and Enterprise project ran by Stobhill Primary School and the associate high school, Newbattle High School. In this cookbook, Alan talks us through how Glow supported the project work.

Impact
By creating his Collaborative Projects in Midlothian group at local authority level, Alan has ensured that staff and pupils across Midlothian will have easy access to content published within the group. The Animation Projects Glow Group is a good example of how Glow can facilitate projects across schools. The Glow Group enables staff to work asynchronously when it suits them, share resources and ideas and showcase pupil work. The wider educational community in Midlothian also benefit by being able to tap in to the knowledge, skills and expertise of staff and pupils in an area of work that they may not be familiar with.
